We are a platform for inspirational and innovative projects.  We also want to engage with people to create a powerful rural-centric movement which harnesses the cross-fertilisation of innovation and ideas to create impactive investment. 

We want everyone to be part of our journey; to shine a light into the dark corners of rural England to create opportunities within their own communities to help them to contribute to their own ambitions. 

Sustainability is at the core of everything that we do, with the use of bio-composites and hemp fibre carried through as a theme throughout our innovative products. We aim to create profit of which we are proud, actively and continuously strive to minimise our environmental footprint and treat our teams, suppliers, customers and stakeholders with respect, empathy and goodwill.

Parnall BioEngineering  
A new technology driven subject dedicated to improving health and quality of life through engineering and the use of bio-composites. 

SARA – Smart Alternative Reality Area
This project is building a next generation, modular alternative reality environment aimed at improving well being within medical, home and commercial applications. 

Parnall Whispa
The design of a small, contemporary, electric boat, The Parnall Whispa. This aims to disrupt the conventional boat ownership model, harnessing the advancement of electric power and battery endurance, with particular benefits for use in environmentally sensitive areas. 

Parnall Aircraft Company – Spitfire Project
The transfer of aircraft engineering skills of the past to the future through the restoration of MkVb Supermarine Spitfire, BL688 and building of a second static craft.

Panther Project
The building of a replica of Parnall’s innovative First World War aircraft design.

Cultivating oil seed crops in order to develop nutraceutical products and natural fibres such as industrial hemp for the development of bio-composite materials for use in construction and engineering. Trelonk also aims to disrupt the entrenched traditions of UK Agriculture by proving that a successful and sustainable farm business is inherently linked to the health of the environment in which it operates.

Mark Parnall – Founder

Born into the Parnall family (which can trace its Cornish roots back to the 16th century and beyond) and a lawyer for 35 years, Mark Parnall provides the strategic vision and is the leading force behind the design and development of all brands within the Parnall Group Ltd. Mark is also co-founder of peer-to-peer lender Folk2Folk, which matches local businesses looking for loans with individual investors in order to help local UK businesses to grow and thrive.


Tim Sawyer – Non Executive Director

With over 30 years experience working in the financial services sector, Tim has held senior roles at Lloyds, Abbey National and helping to launch Cahoot at the start of the internet era. His work overseas includes running a network of banks for the Sampoerna conglomerate of Indonesia, time as COO for KRBS and more recently as Chairman of Banque Dubois in Switzerland, as well as having been Chief Operating Officer of One Savings Bank.

Currently Tim is Chief Investment Officer at Innovate UK, as well as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the University of Bedfordshire.  He is also the current chairman of Folk2Folk, a peer-to-peer lender to small and medium sized businesses in the UK.

In 2017, Tim was appointed as an Ordinary Member to the Competition Appeal Tribunal by Minister for Competition, Margot James MP. 


Alex Daly - Chief Financial Officer

A senior finance professional with an extensive range of both accounting, risk and business experience, gained through working at retail banks, challenger banks, fintechs, alternative lenders and a social enterprise company.

Alex has had a varied career working in Private Equity funded businesses through to PLC’s and the Government. His career has included time as Director of Zehnder Consulting Services, Interim Chief Financial Officer at Omnio London Ltd and Koine Finance in London.

Most recently he was Chief Financial Officer at the Start Up Loans Company after a role where he co-founded and worked as CEO of The Lending Factory Ltd. 


Andrew Blight - Head of Project Office

Andrew is an experienced project manager with a strong background in the banking sector working across a range of programs from Technology Projects, Mergers & Acquisitions, Data Centre relocation for the Australia & New Zealand Bank based in Singapore and Standard Chartered Bank in London. His degree, a BEng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering is strengthened with further qualifications in this sector including the Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL certifications.

Andrew’s role here is to lead the adoption and operation of a project management culture within the organisation to improve the planning and delivery of our projects.


Marie Quirk - Finance & Operations Manager

Marie manages the accounts and financial aspects of the business as well as strategic organisational development. With over 15 years experience in this sector, Marie originally started as part of the Finance & Administration team at Parnalls Solicitors. Marie is known for her fast paced, straight forward approach to her work and has a keen interest in the development of individuals to enhance and increase their work skills and knowledge. Local to Launceston, Marie has an extensive knowledge of Cornish businesses and a wide network of professional contacts across the South West.


Kate Davies – Marketing & Communications Manager

Kate’s role is to oversee and manage the strategic marketing across the brands within the Parnall Group as well as create and implement dynamic and creative campaigns.

Having originally gained a BA Hons in Public Relations, Kate worked for a range of retail, public sector and tourism organisations including The Body Shop, River Cottage and English Heritage qualifying as a CIM Chartered Marketeer and is a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Her career has included the organisation of maritime festivals in Cornwall and Brittany, hosting high level media visits during the Foot and Mouth Crisis to setting up a self-catering and housekeeping business for Beach Retreats, Watergate Bay.


Laura Jackson - Creative Design Executive

Laura’s role is to develop and execute the design and brand for the Parnall Group including the production of marketing collateral to effectively portray the brands to our markets. Prior to joining the team at the Parnall Group, Laura worked in London as a designer working alongside prestigious auction houses such as Christie’s, Bonhams and Sotheby’s generating high quality catalogues and print. She also worked freelance delivering a range of digital projects whilst completing her CIM Advanced Certificate in Digital Marketing. More recently she was a web designer for the UK’s fastest growing retailer, The Range overseeing all aspects of web design and online marketing.


Robyn Pedley – Marketing & Administration Assistant

Robyn joined the team at the beginning of September 2018 initially as an Intern in our Business & Administration team, having completed an Extended Diploma in Business.

Having worked in several departments within Parnall Group, Robyn has gained a wide understanding of the different departments and is known for her excellence in dealing with customers as well as her organisational skills. Her interest in marketing has lead her to develop a role supporting the Group marketing activity including developing content for the social media channels, e-newsletters and website.
