Recent effort has centered around Solar PV integration, external façade design look, routes to product certification and a design review update focused on Mechanical and Electrical service distribution. Hemposite™ is a single point solution for construction, removing the need, expense and inefficiency of conventional construction.
The design look will illustrate, express and amplify the many qualities of the Hemposite™ system demonstrating next generation modular building technology. Much thought is being given to the ‘off the shelf’ form that a Hemposite™ home will take, followed by the look of the hemp resin skin.
Product certification, is a process that takes time and so must run in parallel to product development and as such we have be engaged with a consultant with a wealth of experience in BBA (British Board of Agreement), the leading body for quality assurance within construction. We now have a road map that will help the project navigate this process through testing and accreditation, so thatHemposite™ arrives market ready, post prototype.
We now have a concept schematic of the Mechanical and Electrical distribution in relation to our 150m2 prototype Mk 1 , 2 bed Hemposite™ home, including, power, heating, water, and MVHR (mechanical ventilation heat recovery). So there is real momentum in the project as piece by piece Hemposite™ moves ever closer to a commercial reality.
