Spitfire Update from the Parnall Aircraft Company

Airframe of the static Supermarine MkVb Spitfire

This week has seen more steady progress on the static airframe, with more items being re-fitted to the forward end of the fuselage after being painted. The entire rear of the fuselage has now been removed and is currently in the process of getting painted itself also.

Meanwhile, the static wings have progressed with yet more holes being drilled, allowing the ribs and brackets we have to be bolted in place, with the shape of the wings now becoming clearer. The modifications to the pintle blocks have now been completed too.

Frames 13 and 14 have also been fully formed and fitted into the jig for BL688, meaning we have a full set of the aft fuselage frames to work with going forward.
