How the media can help our PBE project by Matt

Communication & media outlets are powerful tools used to disseminate information, and potentially deliver messages to the masses, or more often in the current day, targeted markets.

For a company like PBE™ with grand aspirations of commercialising the HEMPOSITE™ building system, these communications are key to generating interest, and ultimately sales. Whether it is feeding off some of the negativity in the media around the quality of new builds or the waste and emissions from conventional building, we can promote an alternative to these issues. This can be very powerful when appealing to customers and influencing purchases.

Quality, waste and carbon are all issues that are very prominent topics in the media around us currently and signify not only changing trends in consumer conscience, but also a sign that the industry as a whole has stagnated, and failed to evolve of late.

Here in lies the opportunity to innovate and disrupt, offering an alternative into the space. A quick internet search threw up the following recent BBC headlines, “growing complaints about new-build houses” or “England needs millions of homes to solve housing crisis”, or “The UK Green Building Council says that around 10% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions are directly associated with construction

Harnessing these concerns in the media can add ‘fuel to the fire’ in a positive way when trying promote our product as it adds weight to the cause. However, there must always be care with our own messaging to ensure that we are acting responsibly.
